Welcome back to TalkBarca. Our topic for discussion today is “What did we Learn from FC Barcelona’s victory against Valencia”. As we all know FC Barcelona won impressively against Valencia and kept their La Liga title hopes alive. It was an amazing performance from the away side who kept their calm and fought till the end.
Ronald Koemann must be a proud man of what his team has achieved so far. However, we all know that this is not the end, and Barca still needs to win all remaining games to win the league. This FC Barcelona taught us a lot about how the team is working and what do they need to do in order to win the league.
Here are a few FC Barcelona positives that we took away from this game.
WHAT DID WE LEARN FROM FC BARCELONA’S VICTORY AGAINST VALENCIA
CALM UNDER PRESSURE
There might be a lot of people who are going to disagree with this. However, what I think is that this FC Barcelona team is performing better under pressure as compared to how they used to play last season. Ronald Koemann has undoubtedly, lifted the morale of the team a lot. This has helped them stay calm and focused even if they have conceded one or two goals.
The players know what their game plan is, and even when things are not going their way they do not break down that easily. This attitude has helped FC Barcelona get to the top 4 in the points table after a very disappointing start to the season, and this is going to further help them go further.
LIONEL MESSI AND GRIEZMANN’S PARTNERSHIP IS LETHAL
Remember when Griezmann was new to FC Barcelona, and many fans thought that Lionel is perhaps discriminating against him? Well, what about now? Griezmann – Messi is one of the best working partnerships currently in this FC Barcelona team. Both of them have incredible chemistry together, and they always seem to be aware of where the other person is.
If you saw the game, you must have noticed that Messi and Griezmann played many one-twos passes together in order to get each other out of trouble. This shows that both of them are very comfortable playing with each other. Not only this, but directly or indirectly this partnership has helped Griezmann gain his long-lost form as well. Griezmann is getting on the scoresheet more often now, and his form is helping his team a lot.
DE JONG IS A GEM
How many times do we keep saying this? Frenkie De Jong is easily one of the best midfielders in Europe right now. He is a maestro in the center of the park. De Jong has hardly any bad performances after his name. He was amazing last night as well against Valencia. He has a successful passing percentage of almost 91%. What else can you ask your midfielder for?
De Jong needs to keep up with this form. His team is going to need the best from him in the upcoming games.
