Welcome back to TalkBarca. Our topic for today is the Match Preview of Villareal vs FC Barcelona. With a 5-2 win against Getafe, FC Barcelona is now looking to move to 2nd place in La Liga after winning against Villareal. Beating Villareal is going to be easier said than done. However, both Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid slipped up in their recent fixtures which have given Barca the chance to get into the driving seat.
A win in all remaining seven games is going to lead FC Barcelona to their first La Liga title in two years. Can the Blaugranas do it?
VILLAREAL VS FC BARCELONA MATCH PREVIEW
Villareal is currently 7th at the points table. They are still in the competition considering the fact that finishing in the top four is going to give them a place in the Champions League next year. Therefore, they are not going to take FC Barcelona lightly. Villareal is going to make sure that the Blaugranas are not welcomed warmly at the Estadio De La Ceramica.
However, FC Barcelona is in also their best form of the season. The Blaugranas won the final of the Copa Del Rey and their previous La Liga fixture with huge margins. Therefore, FC Barcelona looks to be the favorite team to win the game. However, Ronald Koemann and his boys must not head into this game thinking about their recent achievements. Every game is a new game, and football can be very unpredictable. Therefore, FC Barcelona must approach this game with the entire focus, and the same kind of passion they showed against Getafe or Athletic Bilbao.
Ronald Koemann is probably going to approach this game with a similar starting lineup as the previous game. Frenkie De Jong was superb in the midfield against Getafe. However, Sergio Busquests stole the show. Lionel Messi showed why he is still the best in the business, and the entire FC Barcelona team sent out a message to their opponents that they want to win the La Liga this season.
This is the same kind of attitude and approach these boys need to show today against Villareal as well. Again, a victory in this encounter is going to take them to the 2nd spot in La Liga. This is enough motivation to go all out and put in every effort to win against Villareal.
Both teams like to play with the same approach. Both of them like to keep possession and attack their opponents from all ends. Therefore, this game is going to be a treat to watch. Villareal knows that FC Barcelona is not going to come easy at them. On the other side, FC Barcelona is aware of the fact that playing away from home against a team who knows how to control the game and has incredible attacking options won’t be easy. The fans are in for a treat.
