Welcome back to TalkBarca. Our topic for today is the Match Preview of Sevilla vs FC Barcelona. FC Barcelona is back on track to continue their La Liga campaign. The team is coming off from an impressive 3-0 win against Elche. Ronald Koemann and his men are currently carrying a lot of momentum as almost the entire team is in form. The main question is that can they do the same against Sevilla as well?
SEVILLA VS FC BARCELONA MATCH PREVIEW
It has not been long since FC Barcelona and Sevilla faced off against each other. The last time when these two teams played against each other, Sevilla was able to embarrass FC Barcelona by scoring 2 goals. Julen Lopetegui had every tactic on point in that game and completely outclassed Ronald Koemann. Furthermore, former FC Barcelona player, Ivan Rakitic’s goal in that game further added fuel to fire. Our attack showed their lack of competency and the defense was superbly shaky as well.
However, things are different now and FC Barcelona is surely going to approach this game differently. Ronald Koemann’s team is now 3rd on the points table and they are now getting back to fine form. The performance against Elche highlighted what this team is capable of. However, Sevilla is much more different than Cadiz. Therefore, we cannot exactly predict that the conditions are going to be the same as Elche. FC Barcelona is also going to play this game away from home. This is going to upgrade the difficulty level of this game as it is never easy to take on Sevilla on their home turf.
Furthermore, Sevilla is in an incredible form as well. They sit 4th on the points table just behind FC Barcelona. The team has won 6 consecutive games in La Liga. Therefore, the team is not going to be short of any confidence heading into this home game against FC Barcelona.
WHAT TO EXPECT FROM FC BARCELONA?
FC Barcelona is coming into this game after a 3-0 win against Elche. Lionel Messi and Jordi Alba were impressive in that game. Furthermore, Martin Braithwaite also showed his class in that game by providing two assists. Trincao, Pedri, De Jong, and other young players were also impressive in that encounter. However, Barcelona must approach this game with a different mentality. Sevilla is a very unpredictable side and we cannot exactly plan how’ll they come against FC Barcelona.
Ronald Koemann should be super careful about his starting lineup choices as it is going to affect the outcome of this game a lot. Ronald Araujo is very likely to return for the Blaugranas which is a very plus point for the team. However, including him directly into the starting lineup can be a risky business considering that he has been out for couple of months due to injury. Overall, FC Barcelona must approach this game positively and with a winning mentality. The team is very well capable of pulling off a win in this encounter and all they need is to have a strong will for it.
