Welcome back to TalkBarca. Our topic for today is the Match Review of the El Classico. FC Barcelona went away to face the tough side of Real Madrid, and could not get the job done. It was a very depressing night for the Blaugranas. In a game where FC Barcelona needed to win at any cost, the boys failed to deliver. The scoreline at full time was Real Madrid 2-1 FC Barcelona.
Real Madrid is now at the top of the table and FC Barcelona is down to third place. Does this mean FC Barcelona is out of the title race now?
REAL MADRID VS FC BARCELONA MATCH REVIEW
The game started on a higher note for both teams. Both sides were filled with energy and we could feel the Classico hype. However, Real Madrid gained dominance soon. Zidane’s men got hold of the game very soon and started toying with FC Barcelona’s defense. They got an early goal in the 13th minute. This early goal was followed by another goal at the 23rd minute.
Real Madrid was all over the game. FC Barcelona had completely lost the game in the first half. The boys were struggling, had no coordination in the midfield, and had no sync. On the other side, Real Madrid was enjoying playing with FC Barcelona’s defense. The first half ended without any goal from the away side.
However, the visiting team got its first and only goal during the early moments of the second half, around the 60th minute. Still, this was not enough to bring the home side down. Real won the game in the midfield, defense as well as attack. Koemann’s team had its moments, but the lack of finishing expertise harmed them a lot.
In the end, the Blaugranas fall short to equalize despite a red card to Real Madrid’s Casemiro. Real won the game with 10 men and got all 3 points from the game. Los Blancos are now at the top of the table. FC Barcelona is going to have to put in a lot of effort in order to go to the top now. However, it is still not impossible. There are many games left in the league and as a fan, I am hopeful we will make it.
