Welcome to TalkBarca. Our topic for today is the Match Preview between Real Betis vs Barcelona. We are back against to the La Liga action, after a disappointing performance at the CDR away game. Its time for us to focus back on our league, and Champions League games. We need to win atleast one trophy this season. This is to ensure that our confidence level stays up. Furthermore, it is going to highly unfair if we end this season without a trophy. We need to make it clear to everyone that Barcelona is not finished. We need to shut haters!
Barca is going to face Real Betis away from home for this week’s La Liga fixture. Our rivals, Real Madrid are facing Osasuna away on the same day of our match. Currently, Real Madrid is on the top, where as Barcelona is on the 2nd position. We are 1 point behind Real Madrid, and we need to make sure that we keep winning games now. I am really hopeful that Madrid is going to slip at some stage. We just need to wait for that moment when Real makes mistake, and drop points.
On the other hand, we need to make sure that we donot do any mistake, and win games now. I really want to discuss La Liga before jumping onto our opponents for the recent fixture. La Liga is in a crucial stage now, and anything can go anywhere now. Therefore, it is up on us now if we really want to end up with titles or not. Yes, we do have problems in our squad, and club, but who doesn’t?
There is no club which is running smooth, without any issue. So, it is time to quit excuses, and actually do something for the sake our team.
REAL BETIS VS BARCELONA MATCH PREVIEW
Let’s talk about Real Betis now. Real Betis is currently on 12th position, and they are just 10 points away from relegation. Real Betis is currently in no shape to face us, and beat us. Come on lets just face it, and accept it. If Real Betis beats us tonight, it won’t be any of their brilliance. We need to be serious.
Real Betis are also very special opponents if you take in account the relationship both clubs share. We have extensively bought or sell our players to them. One example is Junior Firpo, who is currently a member of our squad. Alena is another example, who is now out on loan for us. Therefore, this shows that both clubs have good understanding with eachother even outside the premises of the match environment or tactics. Quique Setien is also the ex-manager of Real Betis, and both parties know eachother really well.
We also have a great record against Betis if we consider the head to head statistics. We seem to always dominate them whether playing against them away or on their home soil. Barcelona faced Real Betis 17 times, and have won 16 times. This shows our dominance, and authority over the club. Mentally, we are in the driving seat for this encounter, and we must use this advantage to full extent. Our only defeat came in when Quique Setien was the manager for Real Betis, and this is also a reflection that Setien knows that Betis system very well. Back when Barca lost to Betis, it was complete domination.
Betis won against Barca with a score line of 3-4, and let me remind you that Barcelona was playing at home. So, I am really confident about the tactics, and the gamplan Setien is going to come up with.
LIONEL MESSI’S EXPECTED MASTERCLASS
I also expect our star player, Lionel Messi to shine in this fixture. Messi abolsutely loves to play against Real Betis. He has scored so many goals against them, yet they are unaware of how to stop him. We know that Messi is not in the best of his forms. Furthermore, we also know that Messi is now not performing at the rate which he used to. There are a lot of factors involved in this. We have to give him credit for whatever he has done for our club, rather than asking for more and more every week.
Now is the time that we thank him for what he has done, and not lash out on him if he cannot score. However, one thing is for sure that this is not the end, and that there is a lot left in Lionel Messi. It’s just that every player has bad games, and our pervious encounter against Bilbao in CDR was one for Messi. He is definitely going to bounce back. I expect a goal or two from him in this game. He really needs to step up for us. Barcelona is always going to depend up on him.
As long as Messi is in the starting lineup, we all know that fans are going to expect from him. Fans are going to look at only him, to win us games. We want him to be on the scoresheet every week. We want him to shine, and he surely is going to. On paper, we look really strong. We just need to trust in our manager who knows the opposition really well, and we need to trust in ourselves. Our players need their confidence back, and when they do, its game over for all other clubs. Let’s talk about Lineup.
REAL BETIS VS BARCELONA EXPECTED LINEUP
I am going to summaries the entire lineup over here. Ter Stegen is the most likely player to start in goal, and I really sympathies him at the moment. I mentioned this is in the previous Match Review as well. We need our full backs, and other players to come up to the level of Ter Stegen or Messi. At this rate, he is going to leave the club, and problems are going to increase. Ter Stegen is a star for us. He has shown us his worth. Other players need to do the same. I expect 4 starting defenders.
The Left back, and Right back are going to be Jordi Alba, and Semedo as usual. However, we are definitely going to see changes in the center back area. Umtiti is most likely to start ahead of Pique after his injury in the previous encounter. He’ll accompany Clement Lenglet who is our regular Central Defender. I am actually waiting to see what midfield Quique comes up with. There is a chance that De Jong might not start, and Arthur, Busqi, and Roberto are going to start. We might even see Busqi, Arthur and De Jong.
Vidal definitely needs to be there too. I think he is fit enough to play one half or maybe more. We need him badly, to provide life into our midfield. We can even rest Sergio Busquests, and play Vidal, Arthur as CMs, and Frenkie as the CDM. Ansu Fati is most likely to start on the Left wing, and Messi is likely to start on the Right Wing. Fati is demonstrating good football performances on the pitch, and it’s time that we start using him more. Griezmann is the starting number 9 for us, and I really hope that he steps up and scores.
This is an easy game according to my opinion, and my final verdict is that Barcelona is going to win. My final prediction for Real Betis vs Barcelona is 0-3. Let’s see what happens.
