Welcome back to TalkBarca. Our topic for today is Mallorca vs Barcelona Match Preview. Yes, we are back guys. It feels so good to write this Preview. I remember writing regular Match Previews, and Reviews for you guys every week. It all stopped all of a sudden. I never expected football to be paused like this. I missed it so much. However, the wait is now over guys. Football is back, and the title race is on again. Barcelona is back at what it does best, and that is playing football. Mallorca vs Barcelona Match Preview is coming right up.
Kickoff is going to begin at 10 pm local time. It is summertime in Barcelona, and the weather can really heat up during the day hours. Therefore, you can expect late kickoff timings from now on. Kickoff for fans living in Asia, especially India and Pakistan, is going to be around 1:00 or 1:30 am, so they have to sacrifice on their sleep to catch this game. However, this is the best thing about Asian fans, isn’t it? Fans in Asia always stay up really late especially during the Champions League games to support their favorite football team.
Now let’s come back to the topic. We are going to resume our football campaign before our rivals, Real Madrid. There is always a different sort of pressure when playing our games before Real Madrid. We know that we have to perform well so that we can transfer the pressure over to them. The title race is also really fragile right now. Barcelona is at 58 points, whereas Real Madrid is at 56 points. Therefore, it is pretty evident that there is not any room for error if we are serious about bringing La Liga to Camp Nou again.
MALLORCA VS FC BARCELONA MATCH PREVIEW
I was talking about transferring the pressure over to Real Madrid by winning this game. I feel like I need to put more emphasis on that point. The thing is that there are about 11 games remaining for the rest of the season, and we have to make sure that we deliver the best performances in all 11 of those games. The reason is that Barcelona needs to win at least the La Liga title. It is really obvious that we badly desire the CL title as well, and are going to work hard for it.
However, the thing is that the chances for winning the CL look slim right now. Therefore, we currently have 2 points lead over Real Madrid. Now we have a chance of extending that lead to 5 points if we win this game. Now let’s just talk about our upcoming fixture. Barcelona is traveling away to the newly built Mallorca stadium and is going to resume the season with an away outing. Furthermore, we already know that the game is going to be played behind closed doors, and there are not going to many people around the players. This is good.
We already talked about the positive side of zero fan involvement in our matches. Yes, we are going to feel that deficit in our home games. However, our away games are going to provide much relief. We saw that FC Barcelona was constantly struggling when playing away from home, and closed doors are going to reduce that pressure. However, in the end, the one with a better mentality, focus, tactics, and courage wins the game. We have to make sure that we are that team in not only this game but every other game to come. We need to stay focused.
MALLORCA VS BARCELONA EXPECTED LINEUP
I missed writing these ones. Well, the expected lineup is similar to what we normally write or know about. Ter Stegen is the obvious, and best choice to start in goal for us. I regularly followed him on social media during the Quarantine days, and I saw that he was really motivated to keep improving. Stegen is a lifesaver for us. He was already so good, and if he comes back even better, things are going to be tough for Mallorca’s forwards. I really want him to shine just like he used to.
Gerrard Pique and Umitit are the expected Center Backs for me. We have talked about Lenglet-Pique coordination issues, but we are also aware of the fact that they are the best available CB duo we have at our club. Lenglet is out for this game due to suspension. We do have some other options as well. I even talked about them in our previous articles. However, I expect both or either one of these players to play the full game. I expect Roberto to start as Right Back, and Jordi Alba to start as Left back. Semedo might miss the game as well. However, I think he is going to come later.
It can be the opposite as well. There is also a chance that Semedo starts the game, and Roberto comes on later. I desire Frenkie, Busquests, Arthur to start things in the midfield. I miss this trio, and I really hope Quique plays all three of them together. However, major chances are that Vidal starts ahead of Arthur. Then, we are going to have Leo Messi upfront. Suarez is going to start I guess. He showed great improvements in this fitness, and I expect him to start as the CF. Meanwhile, Antoine Griezmann can start on the left wing, and we can expect Braithwaite to come later, or vice versa.
VERDICT
I expect my team, FC Barcelona to win this game. I think that Barcelona is going to go away from home, and damage Mallorca badly. It is a fact that our players are in tremendous fitness, and they are in the right frame of mind to resume La Liga. I hope it happens. I expect a scoreline of 0-3 in favor of Barcelona. Let’s see what happens.
Anyway, this is it from our side. I hope you liked the content we wrote for Mallorca vs Barcelona Match Preview. Stay tuned for more Match Previews, Reviews, and other news. Until the next time guys, Visca El Barca!
