Welcome to TalkBarca. Today, I am feeling a little down as a fan. In fact, I am furious with the Barcelona fans for their disgraceful act. In our last fixture against Villarreal, there was a portion of fans who whistled and booed Luis Suarez whenever he got on the ball.
It’s not who we are or how we do thigs. Forget about loyalty, we have fallen far below humanity. To be honest, such shameful acts from our community make me wonder if we deserve a good player. When did we adopt the aggression of Real Madrid? This is certainly not The Mes Que Un Club Barcelona.
We do not whistle or boo our own players no matter how bad they perform. The most disturbing thing is that Suarez is a legend for our club and we certainly cannot treat our legends like that. Luis Suarez is the 5th highest Goal Scorer of all time for Barcelona, and by the time he leaves Barcelona or hangs his boots, he will be among the top 3. Moreover, Suarez scored all these goals in a matter of just 5 years.
Suarez has scored 179 official goals for Barcelona in just 252 games. The fans have to understand that he is aging and cannot perform like he used to. He has passed his prime and lost pace which is why he cannot always get to the through balls. We have to appreciate what he has done for us over the years. Don’t you remember his phenomenal hattrick against Real Madrid when Messi was not available?
He has helped us in several difficult times and we would have not achieved what we have if he wasn’t in the squad. Yes, I understand that he was a little inconsistent in the previous season. However, you have to understand who’s fault is that. Suarez played a lot of games with an injured ankle. He played a lot of games with discomfort and pain, yet he never complained.
Suarez, asked the club to find a suitable replacement for him because he cannot play 90 minutes day in day out. Is it Suarez’s fault that the club didn’t have any backup stricker? This man has given us everything on the pitch. He fights hard every time he steps on the pitch. And believe me, he gets more frustration on missing chances than you do.
This season, we bought Griezmann to as a replacement for Luis Suarez. However, our clueless manager is playing Griezmann on the left wing and starting Suarez in the striking position. So, honestly, who do you think is wrong? Is it Suarez or it’s Valverde? For me, it’s clearly Valverde.
If you have to boo or whistle at someone, it’s Valverde. Suarez is one of the best strikers of this generation without a doubt. We are lucky to have him in our squad. He still has at least 2 good seasons if the manager uses him properly as a super-sub to impact the game in the second half against tiring legs. His services for our club demands respect and should not be shy in giving it to him.
So, guys. that was all. What are your thoughts on this disgraceful act? How Suarez can shut the haters? Most importantly, how should Valverde utilize Suarez to get most out of him. Let me know in the comments below. Until next time, Visca El Barca!
