Welcome to TalkBarca. Yesterday, we covered an article on the career of Ivan Rakitic and his mistreatment at FC Barcelona. It’s quite clear that Rakitic is not in the plans of Barcelona. The club wants to sell the Croatian Midfielder during the Winter Transfer Window. With that in mind, today, we are going to discuss the potential destination for Ivan Rakitic if he leaves Barcelona in the Winter Transfer Window. So, without any delay, let’s get started!
Ivan Rakitic Transfer & Potential Destination:
As we all know, the transfer of Ivan Rakitic is evident. The club has made it clear that they want to get rid of Rakitic. Furthermore, the player has also shown frustrations. Right now, many big clubs are monitoring the situation of Rakitic. We have heard a lot of transfer rumors linking Rakitic to several big clubs. To be honest, if he moves to any big club and gets the right atmosphere, Rakitic’s name will flourish all across Europe once again. So, let’s discuss a few possible destinations for Rakitic if he leaves in January Transfer Window.
Arsenal:
Arsenal is in a very bad state after some poor performances in the Premier League. The Gunners are keen to sign good midfielders and defenders as soon as possible. This is where a possible transfer rumor for Ivan Rakitic came into play. We know that Arsenal and Barcelona have good terms when it comes to buying and selling players. However, Arsenal is a very less likely destination for Rakitic simply because Arsenal is no longer a giant in football. Moreover, Why sell to Arsenal when bigger clubs are bidding more money for Rakitic?
Atletico Madrid:
At the start of the season, we heard a few transfer rumors hinting that Atletico Madrid is actually interested in buying Ivan Rakitic. However, this rumor was short-lived and reports came out stating that Barcelona had already canceled terms with them and are not willing to sell their midfielder to a rival club in the same league. To be honest, I am with the Barcelona Board on this one. It’s because Rakitic can be a big threat to any opposition once he is in form.
If we sell him to any team in our league, then there are chances that he can return to form and perform well against us on any matchday. This is possible also because of his understanding of the team as he has been a part of it for quite long. Secondly, he can also use the game against us to unleash his frustration and anger on Valverde and the board. Therefore, it is best to sell him in any other league than La Liga.
At individual terms, moving to another country can be refreshing for Ivan Rakitic and he can take that as a beginning to a new era. However, according to the recent Transfer News, Atletico Madrid has submitted another bid of around 40 Million Euros for Ivan Rakitic and they are determined to sign him in the Winter Transfer Window. Maybe their determination can compel Barca simply because they are willing to pay a lot more than other suiters.
Inter Milan:
Inter has been heavily linked to Rakitic and it’s surely the most suitable destination for Rakitic. They also have the highest probability to sign Ivan Rakitic. This is great as a move to Italy will introduce Rakitic to new ways of life and also a different setup of football. In Italy, Rakitic can get more playing time and can eventually try to turn into a beast.
PSG:
Transfer news suggest that PSG is also competing with Inter Milan to land the Croatian’s signature. They also wanted to sign him last season, but, couldn’t due to the lack of financial resources. However, PSG is still behind Inter Milan in the race to sign the midfielder and it looks as if Inter Milan is the most likely club to sign Rakitic.
Juventus:
According to the latest news, Juventus is keen on signing Ivan Rakitic in the Winter Transfer Window. They want to strengthen their midfield with experienced and quality players. As of now, Juventus wants to get rid of Emery Can and Replace him with Rakitic. Some transfer rumors suggest that Juventus is working on a straight swap deal with Barcelona with Rakitic moving to Juv and Can heading to Barca. However, all the reports linking Rakitic with Juventus are quite unreliable. We will have to wait and see if there is anything negotiations between both parties.
Verdict:
Whichever club Rakitic is going to choose is not yet certain or obvious. However, one thing is pretty obvious and that is, sooner or later, Rakitic is going to leave Barcelona. Yes, as a fan it hurts, but, this is the truth we have to accept. All I can do is wish him Good Luck in his journey and thank him for everything he has done for the club.
So, guys, this is it for the potential destination of Ivan Rakitic. What are your thoughts on these transfer news & rumors? Where do you think Rakitic will move in the Winter Transfer Window? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below. Until next time, Visca El Barca!
