Welcome back to TalkBarca. Our topic for today is the Gerrard Pique Injury update. Gerrard Pique is back to training after struggling with a knee injury. It’s been a week since Pique returned to training. However, it is very less likely for him to make it to the starting team in the El Classico. Pique has shown progress, but still, he has not fully recovered from his knee injury. The final reports regarding his presence in the Classico squad are going to come out on Thursday.
With Classico just around the corner, FC Barcelona is going to need their star player to be a part of the team so that the team can go into this important fixture with full strength.
Do you think Pique is going to make it to the Classico?
INJURY UPDATE GERRARD PIQUE
There are very less chances that Gerrard Pique makes it to the playing eleven in the upcoming game against Real Madrid. The manager, Ronald Koemann is not very certain about Pique’s fitness and he thinks that it is not going to be easy for the Spaniard to make it to the game. However, if Pique works hard and stays consistent with his recovery, he can make it to the finals of the Copa Del Rey.
Ronald Koemann has some good options to play at the back even if the El Presidente does not make it to the playing squad. Ronald Araujo is back in the team and he looks in good form as well. Clement Lenglet is there as well. Another good option as a Center Back is Oscar Mingueza.
Mngueza has played a lot of football for the Catalan club this season. He served as a full-back as well which is not his natural playing position. However, he was able to deliver decent performances there as well.
Moreover, FC Barcelona is not the only team heading into the Classico without their main defenders. Sergio Ramos and Varane are also going to be out of the clash because of their respective reasons. Ramos is still injured and Varane is out training as he has been diagnosed with Covid 19.
Therefore, both teams are going to be incomplete. However, this is not going to change the fact that both teams are going to go at each other with full intensity and venom.
The El Classico is going to be fun.
