Welcome back to TalkBarca. Our topic for today is regarding FC Barcelona’s January Transfer priorities. FC Barcelona is indeed linked with multiples of players including Eric Garcia, Memphis Depay, and also the return of Neymar. However, these players are very less likely to move to Spain in these winters. Therefore, we are taking a closer look at which player is more likely to come to the Camp Nou in this winter transfer market and if the club really needs him or not.
FC BARCELONA JANUARY WINDOW TARGETS
FC Barcelona is heading towards the Round of 16 of the Champions League as well where they have to face Pochettino’s PSG. Therefore, Ronald Koemann must ensure a proper complete squad by the end of the January Transfer Window otherwise things can get out of control without the boss even realizing it.
FC Barcelona is doing very well in their league now. The Blaugranas had a very depressing start to the season. However, things seem much better now. However, the club is lined up with injury issues and there is a need for some players to fill their spot. The players we are going to talk about today are Reiss Nelson and Darwin Nunez.
Barcelona can definitely consider bringing in Reiss Nelson to the club on a loan deal. Ousmane Dembele is back from injury. However, his health is always unpredictable and a major injury to him in the latter stages of the season can result in a big loss to FC Barcelona. Ansu Fati is still recovering from his injury and we are not expecting a very early return for the young Spaniard. Therefore, FC Barcelona can definitely consider a deal with Arsenal for the young winger.
Nelson has all the qualities to deliver at FC Barcelona. The young winger is quick and very creative. Reis Nelson is a perfect winger material. He has sheer pace and the ability to take on defenders one on one. This deal can benefit both sides as Nelson won’t come as a very expensive player which is good for FC Barcelona as they are struggling financially. Arsenal is going to benefit as well as the coach; Mikel Arteta is struggling to give more game time to Reis Nelson. So it’s a win-win for both clubs.
Furthermore, it is also very beneficial for the player itself. One major weakness of Nelson is that he is not very productive in front of goal. This is a fact that the winger is very lethal in the final third and has all the required abilities. He can take players one on one and beat them. He also has the ability of brilliant off-the-ball movement which allows him to make late runs behind the defenders creating troubles for the opposition. Still, his lack of conversion rate is a big downside of his game.
This weakness can be ignored though. The reason is that Reis is going to play with players such as Lionel Messi, Antoine Griezmann, De Jong, and Busqi. Therefore, it is going to help him a lot to learn more about the game as well as improve his mistakes.
Conclusively, Nelson is a good offer for the Spanish club who can offer them a lot, and is going to come with a very affordable transfer fee.
The second possible player to arrive at the Camp Nou after this transfer window is Darwin Nunez. Nunez is really needed at the club if we carefully assess the situation. FC Barcelona signed no other player to replace Luis Suarez. Martin Braithwaite did play a very crucial part this season. However, no one expected that from him. Antoine Griezmann is also a striker by position, but he is also not performing at that required level when it comes to counting goals.
Therefore, Darwin Nunez is needed at the club. Nunez has all the qualities for a good striker. Darwin is young and has an electric pace. This allows him to leave the defenders in dust and travel quickly. Furthermore, he is very tall and this helps me to easily meet crosses with his head which increases his chances of scoring goals. The young striker from Uruguay has the ability to easily carry the ball and maneuver it comfortably. This makes him a proper team player and someone who can easily fit into the FC Barcelona system.
The scenario with both, Reis Nelson and Darwin Nunez is similar. Both are young and can come to Spain on loan. It is definitely difficult for young players to make a place for themselves in this squad permanently. However, they are currently very needed by the club and can use this opportunity to elevate their game.
As for FC Barcelona, both players are easy on the pocket as compared to the bigger names out there.
Therefore, Barca must go for either both or any one of them.
