Welcome back to TalkBarca. Our topic for today is the Match Review of the game FC Barcelona vs Valencia. FC Barcelona hosted Valencia to the Camp Nou and the team ended up drawing the game 2-2. This is still a positive result for the team and Ronald Koemann is going to take it. However, there is a lot to discuss about this dramatic encounter between both sides. Here is the Match Review of this game highlighting all the details that you need to know.
FC BARCLEONA VS VALENCIA MATCH REVIEW
The Blaugranas were the home team. However, they were still not 100% favorites to win the game as Valencia is very strong this season and have played amazing football. Ronald Koemann had a clear objective in his mind that his team needs to win this game at all costs. The game did not start on a very good note for the home side. The Bluagranas did pretty good defensively but looked clumsy overall. The passing and overall gameplay looked very slow and the entire team lacked venom in the final third.
Barcelona conceded the goal first. Ter Stegen had performed very good before conceding that goal and there was nothing he could do to stop that. It was a defensive error leaving the German International goalkeeper helpless. However, soon after that Antoine Griezmann was fouled inside the box and the home side was awarded with a penalty. Messi took the kick but missed it. However, he converted the cross from Jordi Alba right after that moment and equaled Pele’s record of all time goals. The first half ended 1-1 and the fans hoped that their team finds the net again in the second half.
The second half started brilliantly for FC Barcelona. It was Ronald Araujo who scored another goal for FC Barcelona a few moments after Barca equalized. Araujo scored an acrobatic goal and his finish showed how much talented and skillful of a player he is. The goal gave the fans a lot of hope that 3 points is for FC Barcelona to take. However, the locals could not keep up and Valencia was able to equalize in the 80th minute. The game ended in a draw and the fans are surely somewhat disappointed.
CONCLUSION
The major positive takeaway from this game is that FC Barcelona is in the title race now officially and can win the trophy as well. However, there is a lot of stuff still lacking in the team. The players and the manager needs to work on a lot of stuff in order to be ahead of teams like Real Madrid, Atletico and others on the points table. The young players are look sharp and more active with every passing game. However, FC Barcelona needs to start producing winning results consistently. Otherwise, it won’t be able to stand up against teams such as Real Madrid or PSG.
