Welcome back to TalkBarca. Our topic for today is the Match Review of FC Barcelona vs Real Valladolid. FC Barcelona had to win this game to bring the point difference from Atletico Madrid to only one. Ronald Koemann’s boys looked in fine fitness levels and their body language reflected confidence. It did not end up being a very high-scoring game. However, FC Barcelona managed to come out on the top with a scoreline of 1-0.
The Blaugranas ended up getting all three points from the game and they are being considered as the favorites for the title more than Atletico Madrid.
Can this team lift the La Liga title trophy this season?
FC BARCELONA VS REAL VALLADOLID MATCH REVIEW
FIRST HALF
As much good as they looked in the warmup, the players failed to be any effect in the first half of the game. The overall gameplay was slow. The players looked tired and it was a sluggish display overall. The locals looked like they had no energy. Maybe, it was because of the fact that they had been away from club football for a while. However, this is not how it should work if you are a professional player.
Valladolid had their moments as well. Kenan Kedro hit the crossbar at the 9th minute of the game. Valladolid was also good defensively. They were playing to not let FC Barcelona score a goal and they did a good job at it. FC Barcelona once again failed to convert many created chances due to the poor finishing from the attackers upfront. Messi had a brilliant attempt at goal after he, Griezmann, and Ousmane Dembele combined to create a beautiful play. However, he was denied by the goalkeeper.
Another major highlight from the first half was when Pedri hit the post. He was trying to set up Messi. However, his pass got intercepted so he took a shot himself. He hit the post and the goalkeeper got hold of the ball before any Bluagrana player could get near it.
The first half ended in disappointment for the home side. This was not the kind of performance the fans were expecting from their players. We expected the home side to come and inject lethality into the game right from the start. However, the boys knew what they had to do to get the result they wanted out of this game.
Koemann went inside the tunnel with his team and the first half ended with both teams’ level.

SECOND HALF
The second half did not prove to be much better than the first one. We expected Barcelona to do something better. However, this was not the case. The team did make a lot of effort and was certainly putting in more work. Still, they were not able to get anything out of it. Valladolid had lost all kinds of motivation as well. They were more focused on wasting time instead of trying for the win or be serious about anything.
They seemed very comfortable with a draw and wanted to make sure that FC Barcelona does not win as well. Oscar Plano of Real Valladolid got a red card as well after he fouled Ousmane Dembele in order to stop him from trying to get near the goal.
Valladolid was down to 10 men. However, that did not matter much because they were not doing anything significant in the first place. Alas, all efforts from the home side paid off. Dembele, who was pushing a lot to find the back of the net in their entire game finally got his goal. Frenkie De Jong played a cross inside the box. Ronald Araujo connected his head with the ball. However, it was Ousmane Dembele who got the final touch on the ball and smashed it in the goal.
FC Barcelona scored right at the 90th minute and this goal ensured 3 points for Ronald Koemann’s side. The players were filled with joy. The atmosphere inside the Camp Nou completely changed.
Football is indeed a very unpredictable sport.

CONCLUSION
FC Barcelona won the game and got three points out of it without any doubt. However, the manager still needs to consider his tactics one more time. With less than a week remaining for the El Classico, this was not the right kind of performance from the home side.
If FC Barcelona played a similar kind of football against Real Madrid, then it is going to be very difficult for them to survive. Therefore, the boys need to pick themselves up and work even harder. This is the most delicate time of the season and this is the time where we have to show that we are a champion team.
