Welcome back to TalkBarca. Our topic for today is the Match Review of FC Barcelona vs Granada. This highly anticipated game against Granada where everyone thought that Barca is going to come out with 3 points resulted in a disappointment. FC Barcelona knew that winning this game was crucial if they want to lift the La Liga title. However, we also knew that playing against Granada is not easy for every team.
Granada came to the Camp Nou to push FC Barcelona off their track to the Liga trophy, and they did that successfully. The game in which Koemann’s men needed to win at all cost resulted in a disappointment. Granada beat FC Barcelona by 2 goals to 1.
Here is the Match Review of the game discussing the First Half and the Second Half individually.
FC BARCELONA VS GRANADA MATCH REVIEW
FIRST HALF
FC Barcelona was not that bad at the start of the game. The boys seemed focused, and they were playing good football. However, the only problem was that they were unable to find the back of the net. The FC Barcelona midfield was performing well. They kept the majority of possession and did trouble Granada on a few occasions. However, the away side was also very motivated to not let FC Barcelona win against them.
Granada was pressing high, and the players were putting in extra efforts to win the ball from FC Barcelona. However, Koemann’s men had the better of Granada in the first half. Lionel Messi was able to provide FC Barcelona with the opening goal of the game. Antoine Griezmann assisted Messi who was able to finish the ball from a very tight angle.
The first half ended in favor of FC Barcelona. Koemann obviously was the happier manager. However, Granada seemed to be unbothered by going down first.
FIRST HALF: FC BARCELONA 1-0 GRANADA
SECOND HALF
The second half of the game was completely opposite from the first. FC Barcelona was out of shape completely. It is fair enough to say that FC Barcelona was completely disturbed by Granada. Granada was able to make a comeback in the second half. They scored two goals which obviously made them win. However, it was more of FC Barcelona’s poor gameplay than Granada’s brilliance that leads to this result.
This was not what the fans were expecting. Barca should have been more focused especially after going 1-0 u in a game where victory mattered a lot. The only player who stood out in the FC Barcelona team was Sergio Busquests. Busqi is a mater in the midfield, and he showed that with his performance yesterday. Sergio Busquests made world-class passes that split up Granada’s defense not once, not twice, but several times.
However, there was no one from the attacking side to convert those chances. In the end, Granada had the better of FC Barcelona. Barca is still not out of the La Liga. However, if this team has any chances of lifting the trophy now, it is going to be if they win all of their remaining La Liga games.
Otherwise, it is going to be yet another disappointing season for the fans.
Stay tuned for more details.
