FC BARCELONA VS FERENCVAROS MATCH REVIEW
FIRST HALF
The game did not start very positively for FC Barcelona. Ferencvaros were the first to impose any sort of threat. In fact, Ferencvaros was very near to scoring a goal twice at the beginning of the game. VAR saved FC Barcelona on one occasion. However, the lack of involvement of the defenders, and their lazy attitude is still questionable.
Barcelona woke up after this incident and decided to take handle the game themselves. It was Lionel Messi who made Barcelona get back on track. He dribbled the ball towards the Ferencvaros box alone where he was fouled and thus, awarded a penalty. He took the penalty himself and scored it. This Lionel Messi goal broke two records. He has indeed, spent a lot of his time serving FC Barcelona.
Barcelona took the control of the game and started dominating Ferencvaros. Barca had more of the ball and made their opponents desperate for possession. Coutinho came close to scoring a goal on a few occasions. Similarly, Ansu Fati had his chances as well but failed to convert. However, the team continued to play the way they always do.
At the end of the first half, Ansu Fati was able to score the second goal for FC Barcelona courtesy of a brilliant lob ball by Frenkie De Jong. Frenkie’s pass landed right in the feet of Ansu Fati who was able to finish easily.
The first half ended brilliantly for FC Barcelona, and it already seemed as if Ferencvaros had given up hope.

SECOND HALF
Barcelona approached the second half in a similar way to the first half. They were eager to score more goals, and dominate the game as much as possible. Philippe Coutinho was able to score a goal after a brilliant combination of play with Ansu Fati. However, Ferencvaros pushed a little as well and they tried their best to make Barcelona work a lot in order to score more goals.
A few minutes later, Ferencvaros got a penalty after Pique’s rough foul in the box. Pique even got sent off, and Ferencvaros was able to score their first goal. This was their only goal from the game. Neto could not finish with a clean sheet. However, he did deserve to.
Ronald Koemann made a few changes towards the end of the game because he had a lot of young players on the bench. Ousmane Dembele also made his return to the Champions League after being injured in the same competition last time against Borrusia Dortmund.
He looked fresh and was able to both assist and score a goal. Dembele delivered a great pass to Pedri after dribbling against the Ferencvaros defenders. He was later set up by Lionel Messi, and therefore, got his name on the score sheet.
It was a great day for the Blaugranas, and now they have all the momentum they needed ahead of the EL Classico.
