FC BARCELONA VS FERENCVAROS MATCH REVIEW
WHAT TO EXPECT FROM FC BARCELONA?
Ronald Koemann is the new man in charge of FC Barcelona. Every game in this early part of the new season is a test for him. So far, Koemann has displayed his strengths very clearly. However, his weaknesses are badly exposed as well. Barcelona has played 4 games until now in this season. 2 out of those games demonstrated Barca’s strengths. Meanwhile, the other 2 exposed Barcelona’s weaknesses.
The team clearly struggles under the high press. Furthermore, converting chances is a major problem. The players are able to keep the ball and develop build-ups. However, the conversion rate in the final third is very poor.
Ferencvaros is a considerably, weaker side. Therefore, the players must approach this game confidently. The aim of the players must to be learning where they are lacking and improve that. A 1-0 or 2-1 victory is simply not going to suffice here. Barca needs to win this game with extreme domination. That is the only way to bring back the confidence, and learn how to convert chances.
There is not going to be any special changes in the lineup as compared to the game against Getafe. However, it is very possible that Ronald Koemann decides to rest a few of his players. The reason behind this is that the players are traveling a lot these days. Therefore, they need rest, and maybe Barcelona can handle this fixture without their complete A squad.
WHAT TO EXPECT FROM FERENCVAROS?
Ferencvaros is not very familiar with the Champions League competition. However, they do know how to play good football. Ferencvaros has played against FC Barcelona on a few occasions, especially friendlies, but have not found any way to defeat the Catalans.
However, things are doing to be different this time around. Ferencvaros are coming to this fixture as non-favorites or underdogs. This is something that the players know very clearly. Therefore, they are going to push hard and give it their best in order to humiliate FC Barcelona. Barcelona is struggling to keep a winning streak lately, and we all know that it can slip up against any side.
Therefore, Koemann needs to bring his number 1 game plan. Both managers like to operate with a 4-2-3-1, and this is where this game gets even interesting. If both teams play with the same formation, it is going to be very interesting to see which team handles this formation better.
CONCLUSION
Barcelona has come out as a better team than the previous season. They have a new manager and younger players in its squad. It is also without a doubt that Barca is the favorite team to win this game. However, there is a lot the team needs to improve on. Therefore, this game should be used as a learning opportunity and players must feel twice more confident after this game ends.
The two teams meet tonight after 43 years. It is going to worth watching this game.
