Welcome back to TalkBarca Our topic for today is an Injury Update. FC Barcelona’s Center Back, Ronald Araujo has picked up a hamstring injury and is now going to be out for a few weeks.
Ronald Araujo represented Barcelona in their previous match against Juventus. We all know that Barcelona won the game convincingly and toyed with the Italian team. However, that game also became the cause of Ronald Araujo’s injury. The club has not stated any specific time for Araujo’s return. However, hamstring injuries can take up to two or four weeks to recover. This injury can hurt Barcelona if either Pique or Lenglet gets unavailable in any upcoming games.
Ronald Araujo is definitely going to miss the games against Deportivo Alaves, Betis, and Dynamo Kyiv (In Champions League). This means that he is going to remain out of action until the next International Break. There are chances that Araujo might be fit by the time Barcelona faces Atletico Madrid on 21st November at the Wanda Metropolitano.
Araujo is the only substitute for Clement Lenglet and Gerrard Pique as Samuel Umtiti is also out injured. Therefore, Araujo is undoubtedly very important for the team.
Barcelona is a team that is suffering defensively. This injury means that Ronald Koemann is left with no Center Back backup at all. Both, Gerrard Pique and Lenglet have to be very careful now about not picking up any injuries or unneeded bookings.
CONCLUSION
The injury of Ronald Araujo is definitely a big blow to the Barcelona team who is already dealing with a few injuries. Araujo’s injury has added more fuel to the fire as Barca’s main man, Coutinho is also out on injury.
Ronald Koemann definitely needs to get his strategies and player choices right if he wants to keep winning despite all the injury issues.
