Every season ends with its twist. Football is an unpredictable game, and this is exactly what we saw happening with FC Barcelona this season. The team started their journey very poorly making it seem difficult to make it to the top 4 even. Then, they gained momentum and put in some iconic world-class performances that no one could imagine.
FC Barcelona was the title favorites two weeks ago. However, all they can do now is just stay firm on their number 3 position on the points table.
Welcome back to TalkBarca. Our topic for today is the Match Preview of the last game of this year’s La Liga campaign, Eibar vs FC Barcelona.
EIBAR VS FC BARCELONA MATCH PREVIEW
Ronald Koemann and his men are going to face Eibar today to end their journey of this season. The last time both teams met, it resulted in a draw. Lionel Messi was suspended, Martin Braithwaite missed a penalty, and the defensive mistakes prevented FC Barcelona from winning all 3 points. Barca has nothing to lose now in this game. However, their defeat and Sevilla’s victory can further bring them down to the 4th spot in the league which is going to be nothing less than pure shame.
It is true that there is no prize in winning this game. However, the team must focus on ending the season with some dignity. There is a lot to add in and change in the team and we are also not sure if Ronald Koemann is going to continue managing this team for the next season or not. However, the entire focus of the Blaugranas must be winning all three points from this game today.
WHAT TO EXPECT FROM FC BARCELONA?
Lionel Messi and Pedri did not travel with the team as they have been given a rest. Ronald Koemann is going to give game time to many of his players who did not play much. However, few regular players such as Oscar Mingueza, Ronald Araujo, Antoine Griezmann are going to be part of the playing squad.
It is true that all FC Barcelona needs is a point just to end the season on the third spot. However, winning the game is going to have an entirely different kind of impact on the mentality of the players. Not only winning feels good, but it is going to keep the confidence levels high. It always feels good ending the season with a victory. Right?
