Here, we will include only those players who continuously delivered brilliant performances throughout the month. So, if you don’t see your favorite player in this section even after a good performance, you have to understand that it’s the review of the full month and not just a single game, so, only consistent performers will be here on this list.
Barcelona Best Individual Players For September:
Here, we are going to talk about the best individual performances of Barcelona players throughout the month of September. Furthermore, we have also included a small section to appreciate our complete as a unit simply because our midfielders delivered amazing performances individually as well as collectively. So, without any delay, let’s dive into it!
Arthur Melo, De Jong, and Busquests Trio:
This midfield trio is bossing every opposition. I am a big fan of watching these 3 play together. Arthur is in the center of everything. He is our controller who holds the ball and controls the tempo of our game. On the other hand, Sergio is the brains of this midfield while De Jong is a specialist in playmaking and delivers magical passes.
Arthur:
Arthur is so strong on the ball and circulates around the pitch a lot. He has improved a lot from the previous season and it looks as if he truly feels at home. His work rate has improved a lot and he covers almost all the areas. Most importantly, he is playing 90 minutes unlike the previous season, which has resolved our lingering doubts about his stamina. Arthur has also been involved in front of the goals this season, not to mention his long-range goal against Villarreal that flew past the goalkeeper like a rocket.
De Jong:
De Jong is always so calm on the ball. Most importantly, he is the one who is most eager to win the game. You can clearly see the disappointment on his face after a bad game. However, instead of going into depression, he takes it positively and steps up to deliver even better performances. Another good thing about De Jong is his versatility. He can defend, control the game, and attack along with pitch-perfect passing and playmaking. De Jong also scored and assisted against Valencia.
Busquets:
Personally, I think Busquets is and has been the backbone of Barcelona for many years. He is a master of the passes and has one of the most technically sound minds in the football world. In short, he is the brain of the midfield. Some people think that Busquets has declined a lot and should be benched, what I have to say to those people is that he is the final piece of the puzzle in the Midfield. There isn’t another player like him on this planet.
Busquets is perfectly suited for Barcelona’s style of play. We usually maintain quite a high line. Have you ever thought about how many goals we would have conceded on counters if it wasn’t for Busquets? He drops deep in between the center backs to make it a back 3 when our fullbacks are on the attack so that we don’t suffer on counters. Also, he connects the midfield with defense and the attack. Defensive Midfielder is the most crucial place in Barcelona’s setup, it’s the heart of our lineup on the pitch and there is no one better than Busquets to play there not even De Jong, at least not yet.
Ter Stegen:
If there is a man who should be our player of the month, it’s Ter Stegen. MATS was rock solid in the goal against every opposition. Ter Stegen started in each and every fixture in Septemeber and every time he stepped on the pitch he looked ready to stop every attempt the opponents take at him. He is the only reason we didn’t lose against Dortmund. He saved a penalty and blocked a few point-blank range shots to avoid a defeat in the Champions League.
Ter Stegen has been our best player after Messi for quite some time. He has not only saved from the back as a goalkeeper but has also shown the mentality of a leader. Moreover, he provided an amazing assist to Suarez in the game against Getafe which turned the tides in our favor. It’s quite rare for a Goalkeeper to get an assist to his name but MATS has done it and showed why he should be the number 1 for Germany. Ter Stegen also initiated a move that lead to the goal against Valencia.
Ansu Fati:
Fati is a gem for our attacking lineup. Ansu is displaying better football day by day and his future at the club looks bright. With Messi and Dembele out injured, Barcelona lacked firepower in the attack. Barcelona desperately needed someone to take responsibility and rise up to the occasion.
This 16 years old boy took that responsibility and lead the attack like a veteran. Ansu Fati showed the world that Barcelona’s future is in safe hands or should I say feet. However, Fati is currently out with an injury and is expected to be back in the team against Sevilla. Hopefully, he will return soon and with an even better form.
Other Honorable Mentions:
- Semedo: Semedo had an amazing month of football with FC Barcelona. He played in all the matches for Barcelona in September and delivered a good performance every time he stepped on the pitch. Most importantly, Semedo had to play on the left back in 2 games to accommodate our defense and did pretty well on his unnatural side.
- Carlos Perez: Carlos Perez did pretty well whenever he was given the chance. Obviously, we felt the absence of Messi and Dembele in our attack. However, Perez showed delivered some good performances which tempted the board to extend his contract with the club.
Verdict:
Well, that was all for the best individual players in September. What are your thoughts on this article? Who do you think deserved to be on this list? Do you agree with our list?
